Arts and crafts group
AT the Palmwoods Arts and Crafts Group monthly meeting held at the shed on March 3 a
very comprehensive report was given by our two representatives President Anne Borthwick
and secretary Joan Lilly who attended the Regional Communities Conference in the Nambour
Civic Centre in February.
Every person who attended the conference will receive correspondence setting out the
results when all the data is processed. Government representative Mr Makenroth said: The
excellent turn out of 900 showed people were genuinely interested in having their say and
doing something positive for the community. The rain had an effect on Shed attendances in
February. Some classes had to be cancelled due to road closure. The Calligraphy class for
beginners was well attended even though the usual date of the second Monday in the month
had to be altered. These members are enjoying the first thrill of writing Italic style.
Something new in the Fabric Art Workshops conducted fortnightly by Lorraine Rowland
