Palmwoods Singers
THERE was great excitement for the junior members of the Palmwoods Singers Theatrical
Society Inc at their last practice night when the birth of a baby boy, Dehklan, for their
teacher Wendy and her husband Russell Southam was announced.
Each child carried home a blue balloon printed with Dehklans name. The young folk
are thoroughly enjoying learning their songs for the musical The Prince and the
Penguins, and will soon be auditioning for their roles.
Because of extra university studies their other teacher Nikki has been unable to attend
practices, so musical director Marjorie Murray is most appreciative of Kirrilees
help.
The singers are sad to be losing one of their most involved families, when they depart
for Perth. From the parents, Dennis and Veronica Coates who helped in many ways, even
taking part in cabarets, to Paul, Mary and Lucy with their lovely voices, Tom as
technician, to little Sarah, who made her debut as baby Jesus in the Nativity a couple of
Christmases ago, they will be missed.
The next monthly meeting takes place in Palmwoods Memorial Hall on 6th April at 7pm
