THE sun was shining and the sky was radiantly blue as 130
visitors attended the open day at the Maroochy Regional Botanic Gardens at Tanawha on
March 28.
Publicity Officer Harry Laidlaw said the open day was one of the best they have hosted
and that feedback from the guests was very positive.
"We had visitors from throughout the Sunshine Coast and beyond, including Mayor
Don Culley and his wife," he said.
"Everyone was impressed with the site and the progress that has been made."
Refreshments were provided as many people sheltered from the sun under the multitude of
shady trees and activities included conducted walks throughout the site.
Mr Laidlaw said that there will be another open day in a few months giving those that
missed out another opportunity to preview the progress of the Botanic Gardens.
