Community kindy update
THE children of Palmwoods Community Kindergarten and Pre school have spent March
learning about the lifestyle of caterpillars and frogs.
Tadpoles have steadily been growing legs, much to the childrens interest and
amazement, in an aquarium on the nature table. The grounds have been thoroughly searched
for these creatures and evidence of their existence; many leaves with holes in them have
been collected. The ever popular story: The Very Hungry Caterpillar has initiated many
educational conversations about frogs, tadpoles, caterpillars and butterflies.
The children have cooked gingerbread men accompanied by soup and stories of escaping
gingerbread characters. They kept their eyes closely glued to the biscuit tray making sure
their creations didnt escape. Fathers night was organised this month and Dads,
Grandfathers, Uncles and mothers who cant spend regular time at the centre came to
share a special night with their child.
At the end of March parents & children brought plates of party food and shared an
Easter party, celebrating their first term together and the Easter holidays.
