Residents ready for a "slow-down"

RESIDENTS & Ratepayers are hopeful that the speed through town down past the hall and shops will be officially lowered, following representatives to the local member, Peter Wellington.

If you were not able to come to the Bush Poets Night then you really missed a treat.

Don’t panic however as another is already in the planning stages. Ian Mackay, Jacquie Bridle & Mark Feldman had the audience in stitches.

The hall decorations set the scene for a real Aussie good night out & Ian’s lysdexic Three Piddle Ligs just has to be heard to be believed.

Several Palmwoodsians produced their own poems, Enid Rough’s & Brenda’s were particularly well received.

Watch this space for the date of the next Bush Poets Night.

Neil & Sheila Keil - Don’t you love those talking signs at Keil Mtn Road intersection? The west facing one I call Sheila, the eastern one Neil (yes it is spelt the same as Keil should be) 67 km/h is a popular number to be told your doing at any speed from 62 to 70 that is.

Sheila lacks Neil’s sense of humour though. As some letters went on the blink Neil was announcing a blatant untruth "You- -peed 72 km/h"!

The best was the night a whole chain of cars, all travelling carefully at 60, sedately slid past Neil K. He was obviously bored and suddenly announced "Your speed 192 km/h"!
