Woombye group changes direction

THE former Woombye Progress Association has been revolutionised at the last meeting.

Seventeen community members attended the previous meeting and elected an executive committee with Bruce Soden as chairman, Chris Manning as treasurer and Bob Wade as secretary.

There is now a working executive of 11 people who are at present preparing a mission statement and news letter informing the community of the changes and plans for the ensuing year.

The name of the WPA will be changed to reflect all community interests.

At this stage the new name has not been finalised.

The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, June 1, at the Woombye School of Arts Library Rooms at 7.30 pm.
