Eudlo,
Ilkley community update
THE Eudlo and Ilkley District Community Association chairman Alan Hammond reports:
April has been especially busy for EIDCA with a meeting early in the month of local
interest groups, Mayor Don Culley and Cr Geoff Littler to discuss future projects and
concerns.
The meeting was well attended and a number of items were taken on board for action,
including a much needed Guard rail on School Rd, sealing of Ramberts Road and Wilson Road
and traffic calming to Rosebed St in the town.
On Tuesday April 25 residents met with State Member for Mooloolah Bruce Laming and
Member for Nicklin Peter Wellington to discuss the new electoral boundaries.
The new boundaries would effectively split the town into two electorates using the rail
line as the border. Subsequent action by EIDCA has resulted in the collection of 200
signatuires on a petition together with personal letters requesting the boundaries be
changed to coincide with the shire borders.
EIDCA met with Peter Wellington and Qld Rail and Dept of Transport representaives to
discuss leasing of rail land for extending the park before work commences on upgrading by
Council. There is hope this will result in a 10 metre wide extension to the park.
Discussions have also addressed the traffic calming issues in town with a meeting with
Mayor Don Culley, Main Roads staff, Eudlo school P & C and EIDCA but it may be some
weeks before a proposal is agreed upon.
Next meeting of the EIDCA was on Tuesday night.
