Woombye Probus Club news
THE Probus Club of Woombye is back in action for 1999 with the Annual General Meeting
already been and gone. Viv Blowers is the new president, Joan Cuddihy is secretary with Vi
Moloney as her assistant and Al Cuddihy as treasurer. The Committee: Betty Crowhurst,
Norma Gilchrist, Tony Gaskin and Joan Shearer.
Members enjoyed their outing to the Shaftesbury campus and lunch at Morayfield Shopping
Centre in April and also their trip to Australia Zoo in May. Jack Pike gave his This is My
Life talk at the April meeting and members learnt about life on the land 80 miles north of
Cunnamulla. Jack and his wife Dulcie have been married for more than 60 years.
The Guest Speaker was Dot Whittington who gave an insight into her life as a journalist
for the past 25 years. Dot was presented with a certificate of appreciation. The next
meeting will be at the Woombye Bowls Club at 9.30 am on Monday, June 28. Inquiries to

Hostel raffle winners
RESULTS of the Palmwoods Retirement Village Hostel Mothers Day Raffle: First
Prize - Mothers Day Iced Fruit Cake, made, decorated and donated by Isabel Bauman
was won by YP Clegg, Palmwoods.
Second Prize - $10 meal voucher plus a bottle of wine donated by Main Street Cafe,
Palmwoods was won by J Park, Palmwoods.
The auxiliary thanks both prize donors, the business houses of Palmwoods who sold
tickets and the many residents who bought tickets. Funds raised by the auxiliary assist
the elderly residents of our Palmwoods Retirement Village.
