CONGRATULATIONS to the local Palmwoods and Woombye CWA Ladies, Rhoda
Mathies, Judy Roberts and Maria Harkins who individually achieved First or Second prizes
in the CWA Divisional Competitions in cookery, crochet, knitting and floral art.
The competitions were held at the Woombye School of Arts at the end of
April. Of a very high standard were the hundreds of entries in the various sections, so
sincere congratulations to the local ladies who so ably won in their categories.
Former residents
MANY Palmwoodsians would remember ex Hunchy Road residents Jim and Dawn
Pettifer.
Although now living at Coolum Beach, Jim still retains his membership
of the Palmwoods-Woombye Lions Club.
A week or so ago Jim tripped and fell at his Coolum Beach home, badly
breaking a thigh bone.
Jim was taken to Nambour General Hospital by ambulance to undergo
surgery.
He now has the broken bone pinned and sheathed, and is walking about
with the aid of crutches.
All good wishes to you Jim and Dawn from your many friends and
acquaintances in this area.
We trust all will be well for a complete recovery and that you and
Dawnie will be tripping the light fantastic again soon.
