So why so tired?
from the Meher Clinic

MORE and more people are coming to our clinic with chronic tiredness. There are many causes, we will give here the most common causes that we see: Anaemia - this can be iron or vitamin B12 deficiency, in Chinese medicine Blood deficiency which can also mean a low circulating blood volume. This can be caused by excessive menstrual bleeding; Hypothyroidism - low thyroxine production or inadequate body response to thyroxine; Hypoglycemia - low blood sugar; Overwork (Burning it at both ends); Depression; Emotional stress/trauma/grief; Irritable/inflammed bowel, this can cause a lack of absorption of nutrients from food; Menopause or hormonal imbalance; Insomnia; Chronic latent viruses. These viruses are a major cause of what is commonly called Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS)

These viruses can include Epstein-Barr (Glandular Fever) , Ross River Fever, Parvo, Barmah Forest, Dengue and others. Recent studies show that 60% of Chronic Fatique sufferers test positive for a type of bacteria which also resembles a virus and is called Mycoplasma. Anti-viral herbs together with anti-bacterial herbs and homeopathics are very effective.

Additional symptoms that can accompany CFS include joint pains and / or muscle pain. These pains can be severe and debilitating. A toxin from type of Staphylococcus bacteria has recently been implicated as causing joint and muscle pains.

Diagnosis and treatment of Chronic Fatique is best done by your Naturopath/Homeopath/Herbalist or Acupuncturist.
