POLICE BEAT
with Snr Const Paul Campbell

Break and Enter

THERE have been a few break and enters on houses in the Palmwoods area and these have occurred during the day. It is possible that the offenders may not be using a vehicle to get around as only a small amount of property has been taken. Residents are reminded to report any suspicious persons.

Suburban speed limits

NOW the amnesty for the new 50 km/h speed limit in suburban areas is over Sunshine Coast Traffic Branch will be enforcing the new 50km/h limit

Motorists may have seen the Traffic Branch around the Palmwoods area and they are equipped with the new Laser Speed Gun which can pin point offending vehicles.

Remember to reduce your speed.

Stealing from vehicles

WE are still receiving a number of reports of vehicles being broken into in the Kondalilla Falls Car Park.

Thieves are still committing offences in this area occasionally.

Usually tvisitors’ vehicles are targeted but residents are urged to remind friends and relatives who may visit the National Parks, not to leave any valuables locked in their vehicles.

The offenders are very professional and usually gain entry to the vehicle, steal any property, and then lock the vehicle back up again.

The owners usually don’t realise that they have been broken into until they go to get their belongings from the boot of the vehicle.
