Old
Orchard Estate gains in popularity
MARKETING Consultant for The Old Orchard Estate in Palmwoods School Road, Ken Owen, has
reported widening support for the new development.
"The delays in construction brought about by recent wet weather
have given us more time to communicate with local residents about the high quality and
country atmosphere of the estate prior to completion of the prestigious first
release," Mr Owen said.
"We are receiving more widespread support through our involvement
with the local community and by supporting activities such as Project 2000 through the
Palmwoods Progress Association, and the Palmwoods State School with upgrading of
playground facilities."
Though there has been community concern as to the size of the
development there has never been any doubt in the minds of the developer that this estate
would set a new and better standard on the Sunshine Coast, Mr Owen said.
The establishment of the developers local office at Shop 3
Palmwoods Plaza (opposite the Police Station) has enabled many residents to view the plans
and discuss the quality of the covenants.
"The visitors to our office, once informed with the facts are
going away with confident opinions and we are generally getting the thumbs up
every time," Mr Owen said.
The first release of 26 allotments, to be known as Merrymans
Flat, seems to be attracting a lot of attention, with 49 expressions of interest. Most of
the interest is from local residents wishing to upgrade and from local builders expressing
a desire to participate with spec homes.
Construction of the first home on the estate, which will become the
developers Sales and Information office, is due to commence in a few weeks.
Five blocks have been allocated for a display village with a focus on
local and Sunshine Coast builders.
