Singers are in fine voice

REHEARSALS are steaming ahead for the next Palmwoods Singers Theatrical Society’s production "Let’s Sing", to be staged on Sunday July 25 at 2pm.

The Dulcettes will perform an entertaining selection of numbers, while the Junior groups feature in a musical revue of "Wizard of Oz" and the childrens’ musical "The Prince and the Penguin".

If you enjoy the purity and sweetness of children’s voices you won’t want to miss this afternoon of delightful entertainment.

Bookings open in July phone 5445 9257 or 5445 9280.

Admission for adults is $7, children $3, which includes afternoon tea.

Some hard work

HARDWORKING member, props person and singer, popular Stan Hyde received the surprise of his life when he thought he was attending a dress rehearsal recently.

Suddenly the empty hall began to receive more and more people who let Stan know why he was really there by singing ‘Happy Birthday’.

His wife Doris had arranged for a visit by friends and family, many of whom had travelled from around Queensland to help celebrate his 70th Birthday.

All thoroughly enjoyed the items the group performed for them and were suitably impressed with Stan and Doris’s performances.
