Probus
membership on the rise
by Joan Cuddehy
MEMBERSHIP continues to rise in the Probus Club of Woombye with the total number of
members now being 54.
Guest speaker at the May meeting was Mrs Christine Jones, a volunteer worker from the
Nambour Cancer Support Group. She spoke on "The Power of Positive Thinking" in
relation to cancer and members were very attentive during her talk.
Mays outing was a trip to the Australian Zoo, what a lovely sunny day - the first
in about two weeks. Members certainly enjoyed the day with fine food - great displays -
and talks on the otters, camels, snakes and of course, the crocodiles. The facilities were
very clean including the pens, cages and pools. Many thanks to all the staff.
"This is my life" segment was given by Vi Moloney and took us from the
Atherton Tablelands down to Sydney and back to the Sunshine Coast. Thanks Vi.
The next meeting will be held on Monday 28 June at 9.30 am at the Woombye Bowls Club.
