Communities

Crystal Waters Permaculture Village - http://www.ecovillages.org/australia/crystalwaters/cw_toc.html
The village of about 200 people is located near Conondale, in the upper Mary Valley. This web site is small but informative, with pages on the village, its people and organisation, as well as contact information and directions to get there (note that the village is jointly-owned private property - ask before visiting).

Koala Net - http://www.koalanet.com/
A Noosa site oriented towards overseas viewers. Beautifully presented and easily navigated, with useful information on Australia and Noosa.

Noosa Index - http://www.ozemail.com.au/~noosans/
Does exactly what it implies, and does it well. A comprehensive set of links to websites in the Noosa area, organised under logical categories.

Noosa The Guide -- http://www.tourismnoosa.com.au/
Produced by Tourism Noosa, operators of the Noosa Information Centre, this site offers attractively-presented tourist promotion material. Fairly basic at this time, but developing rapidly.

SunWeb - http://www.maleny.net.au/sunweb/
"The website devoted to the people, places and events in, on and around the Hinterland of Queensland's Sunshine Coast", principally the Blackall Range from Maleny through Montville to Mapleton. The site has some information on local attractions, organisations and businesses.

Local Government

Caloundra City Council - http://www.caloundra.qld.gov.au
An attractive site but contains lots of graphics and may be slow to load. The "Current Issues" collection of news items is a great feature.

Cooloola Shire Council - http://www.cooloola.org.au/csc/
Contains useful information on the Shire Council, contact details and services. Small but well-arranged.

Maroochy Shire Council - http://www.maroochy.qld.gov.au
Vastly improved over the Maroochy Council's previous site, this one provides a good range of up-to-date information about the Council and its services, logically organised and easy to navigate.

Noosa Council - http://www.noosa.qld.gov.au
Yes, this is the Noosa Shire Council's web site, containing an excellent range and depth of shire and community information, including basic maps and a good range of photos. Noosa Council is setting an example for other local governments in making important public information such as its Annual Report accessible to citizens via the Internet.
