Introduction page - Internet resources Sunshine Coast WWW Resources:
   Education

Tertiary Institutions

University of the Sunshine Coast - http://www.usc.edu.au/
An excellent, fast-growing site that uses frames to provide efficient navigation to sections covering curriculum, services, events and contact details for Australia's newest university.

State Schools

Beerwah State High School- http://www.beerwahshs.qld.edu.au
A site which was showing promise last year but has unfortunately gone backwards since the Education Department's reorganisation of school Internet access. Contained no information at time of writing, but this may change soon.

Bokarina State School - http://www.beachaccess.com.au/bokarina
This nicely-organised site includes a complete school profile, some student work samples, and contact details. Likely to move to http://www.bokarinass.qld.edu.au.

Caloundra State High School- http://www.caloundrshs.qld.edu.au
An easily-navigated site that gives clear, basic information on the school, students, administration and some of its subject departments. Sections on sport, school news, culture and professional development provide a foundation for further development.

Gympie State High School - http://www.gympieshs.qld.edu.au/
This attractive and effective site has obvious potential, and includes some good work from students, and information on curriculum and resources. Fast becoming a model for other schools to follow.

Kuluin State School - http://www.kuluinss.qld.edu.au/
One big page showcases selected features of the school, as well as photos, a table of statistics and a table of favourite educational links. To get straight to this page, the address is http://www.kuluinss.qld.edu.au/main.htm

Maleny State High School - http://www.malenyshs.qld.edu.au/
Another promising school site last year, but currently non-existent. Click on the link anyway, just in case.

Maroochydore State High School - http://www.maroochyshs.qld.edu.au/
An excellent example of how, with imagination and organisation, the standard-issue website for government schools can be transformed into something special. Presentation of the school newsletters deserves particular commendation.

Nambour State High School - http://www.nambourshs.qld.edu.au/
Here's a school that's starting to harness the power of the Internet to publicise itself and also provide a useful information resource for students, with curriculum information from various subject areas. Check it out!

Sunshine Beach State School - http://www.sunsbeacss.qld.edu.au
A bright, simple, well-organised site with a surprising depth of information, either available or planned.

Tewantin State School - http://www.schools.ash.org.au/tewss
A good range of information includes the latest school newsletter and an online Parent Information Booklet. Some good ideas here for other schools to emulate. Likely to move to http://www.tewantinss.qld.edu.au.

Yandina State School - http://www.schools.ash.org.au/schools/yandina/
An attractive site with some useful information on the history of the school and its community.

Independent Schools

Immanuel Lutheran College - http://www.immanuel.qld.edu.au
Immanuel's web site is just starting up, but already showing promise. Check it again soon, to find out more than the basic contact details presently shown.

Matthew Flinders Anglican College - http://www.mfac.edu.au/welcome.htm
A well-presented online prospectus covers the College's four levels - preparatory, primary, middle and senior - and provides information on pastoral care, co-curricular activities and contact details. It is complemented by the College newsletter (latest issue only).

Educational Support

Mooloolaba and Area School Support Centre - http://www.peg.apc.org/~moossc/
Information is currently limited to contact information for support personnel in various subject areas, and a couple of subject area resource lists. The World Wide Web obviously offers huge potential for educational support, and it is to be hoped that the current re-organisation of the Department of Education does not slow the development of this site.

BABE (Basics and Beyond) - http://www.babe.net.au/welcome.htm
This Sunshine Coast Internet Service Provider concentrates on the education market. Check the site for clear information on their services, fees and policies, as well as a good list of web resources.
