   Tourism & Accommodation

Australia Zoo - http://www.crocodilehunter.com
Formerly the Queensland Reptile and Fauna Park, this Beerwah tourist attraction owes its notable web address to owner Steve Irwin and wife Terri, known worldwide through their TV show. This excellent site gives basic details of the zoo, including opening times and admission prices, together with short biographies of Steve and Terri.

Australian Internet Travel Directory - http://www.travelaustralia.com.au/qld/sunshine/sunshine.html
A technically sophisticated site in which it's easy to get lost. However, there is quite a lot of information available on tourist attractions and accommodation, if you can only work your way through and find it. The accommodation directory attempts, with limited success, to provide contact details for all establishments, and gives further details (including prices) for advertisers only.

Australian Tourism Net - http://www.atn.com.au/qld/south/south-c.htm
A slickly attractive web site whose accuracy is reasonable except for some outdated links. Brief information is provided on major towns and National Parks, and there is a reasonable set of links to other Sunshine Coast web resources, but any Australia-wide service will find it difficult to do justice to an area like the Sunshine Coast.

Australian Tourist Commission - http://global.australia.com/pl/atc?US841726:29:SCQ
The ATC's web site covers the whole of Australia, so it's not surprising that their Sunshine Coast section is pretty, but also pretty superficial. Links to details of attractions, events and accommodation have improved recently, but there are no links to more detailed information sources. Use the address above to bypass the ATC home page with its incredibly complex introduction.

The Big Pineapple - http://www.bigpineapple.com.au/
One of the region's tourism icons for over a quarter of a century, the Big Pineapple now has an Internet presence to match its physical presence. All the information is here, and the presentation is excellent.

Fishing Noosa - http://www.fishingnoosa.com.au
The name says it all. If you're interested in fishing the Noosa area - offshore, beach or in the river and lakes - this is where to start. Sponsored by the famous Davo's Bait and Tackle (whose owner went on to become Qld's Tourism Minister), this site also boasts an up-to-date fishing report and full details of fishing charters.

Maroochy Tourism - http://maroochytourism.com
Part of the Ausnetwork site, Maroochy Tourism offers an attractive layout, online booking facilities and some exciting plans for the future. Information on accommodation, attractions and tours is largely limited to advertisers.

Sungolf - http://www.spiderweb.com.au/~sungolf
A nicely-presented site that focuses on the region's golf courses and golf clubs. Club news, the "hole-in-one club" and a coming events list are useful features. Also included are "golf links" (the Internet kind), and links to other Sunshine Coast tourism sites.

Tourism Queensland - http://www.queensland-holidays.com.au/pfm/regions/sunshinecoast/
This is part of the Queensland government tourism body's large and very attractive web site covering all regions of the state. Display of information, and ease of access to the information, are very good. Strangely, the depth of information on individual towns seems to have been reduced in a revamp of this site. Information on accommodation establishments is quite complete, including cost details, but there is no facility to search for accommodation satisfying particular criteria, such as price range.

Tourism Sunshine Coast -- http://www.sunshinecoast.org/
The official website of the Coast's major tourism promotion body contains basic information about the organisation as well as attractions and facilities. Unfortunately there are no links to sites offering more detailed information.
